To prioritize the health and well-being of all our stakeholders and in keeping with the guidance from Federal, State, and County agencies, SDCOE is postponing non-essential events, meetings, and gatherings. For now, we are offering our events online. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this fast-moving and ever-changing community-wide issue.

Participants will be fully certified only when both parts of training (virtual and physical) and the final test have been completed.

About Professional Development
The NCCSE cabinet, composed of Special Education Directors from each of our districts, is committed to having a comprehensive program of workshops that respond to the concerns of parents as well as staff members. Each year, the staff development committee meets to identify the needs of our consortium and plans meaningful programs that will address those needs. Our program offerings are diverse, from educating parents and staff members that work with students with Autism to the latest information on IEP issues. As school begins each year, NCCSE posts the Professional Development Opportunities. The website contains workshops that have been planned for the school year, adding more as district's needs arise.
Professional Development Provider
We are an approved continuing education provider for the following boards:
- CA Speech-Language Pathology Board
- Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- National Association of School Psychologists
(Please check our workshop descriptions for specific availability)
Documentation of Attendance
When available, we send documentation of attendance to participants who attend our workshops in their entirety. Participants who arrive late or leave early will not receive an attendance document. We do not provide partial credit. It is the participant's responsibility to sign-in at the beginning and sign-out at the end of the training and complete an evaluation form. Usually, we send documentation of attendance via e-mail to participants who complete all requirements within one week of the training date. No exceptions.
These are requirements that we must follow as an approved professional development/continuing education provider.
NCCSE maintains responsibility for NCCSE presented programs.
